The episode wasn't bad, it was decent but I just feel like Mob being the end boss all of a sudden came out of nowhere and it all started in the previous episode, with the most cliché method you can possibly think off, a dumb kid listening to music and walking around the streets and a dumb driver on top of the trusty old truck-kun, I mean, can't you invent a better method to deliver a Mob going out of control? why do you have to get so damn cliché like this?

This is the most contrived moment of the series. Not enough people are bringing this up.

Mob saw there was a car coming. He pushed a kid out of the way and got hit instead. He bleeds out and goes unconscious.

Putting aside other ways Mob could have handled the situation, even if Mob had very little time to register what happened, where was his barrier? He could turn that on in a matter of a split second. He's been flown through concrete and punched to oblivion with less blood loss. If we're gonna base this by the fact that non-esper impacts could harm espers when they're not expecting it, then Mob would have at the bare minimum enough time to register imminent danger and set up a barrier for himself, hell him and the boy, when he jumped.

This genuinely sucks, fucking love this series, and this plot-hole hurts bad. Ruins what could have been a deserved amazing Hanazawa moment.

I am still thinking about this episode. My mind is swirling with thoughts on not who and how will someone( boss or anyone) stop Mob, but on how much hard will be for Mob to forgive himself the longer this goes on. His subconscious is aware of partially what is going on and he seems to be in so much pain. My heart breaks for him.

You forget that Mob isn't some invincible god and doesn't has his barrier up all the time. Remember, in season 1, Koyama knocked Mob out with a sleep spray? It is totally possible to take Mob by surprise, even during a fight. And he was obviously relieved after saving the cat, so he put his guard down.
Also a little detail: Mob had to free his hand to save the cat, and then he grabbed his bag once again. He could have anticipated a car crashing into the cat because of red light and car horn. But the second time, he didn't expect crash at all. He had less time to free his hand or think. The most important thing is, Mob basically trained himself to use his power ONLY consciously. That's why his first reaction was not to put up a barrier but to block kid with his body.

Dude, the spray worked on him when he had an even stronger 100% barrier. The spray's a special case that penetrates barriers that aren't strong enough unlike Mob's 1000%.

And we have seen multiple instances of Mob's barrier going up without his hands raising up first. And even if needing his hands up were true, he dropped his bag and used his hand to push the boy out of the way anyways, which again could have done a myriad of other ways to save the kid.
